So, dA is 14 years old, and I've been here for half of that time. I made an account for posting Harry Potter fan art (thanks to the HP fandom, I had recently begun to draw again after a 10-year hiatus). I was a little uncomfortable at first, feeling maybe a bit too old for it (and I was 23. Now, 7 years later, I still enjoy making fan art and I don't give a damn )
Some examples of great Harry Potter fan art I found here:

I already knew what fractal art was (well, not too much: I remember asking myself "who is this Julian?" ), but it wasn't until late 2007 that I finally decided to download Apophysis, and it became an addiction. It was a time of my life when I had re-discovered my artistic side (and I was living a big personal crisis that still isn't resolved today), so I was glad to waste time creating these abstract ...things which were strangely gratifying.
After a couple of years playing with Apophysis, I also began to use Fractal Explorer and eventually Ultra Fractal (but it took me a while before making works that I actually liked).
I'm one of those quiet people who prefer making things on their own, but even when I don't interact much with the community I still like viewing artwork and searching for inspiration.
Various works that inspired me in my first year as fractalist:
...and now, a few works from my gallery (randomly chosen - but not so randomly):
-I was obsessed with rings/julian for a while:
-I have no idea how I managed to make this (experimenting with edisc):
-This is from my "spherical" phase:
-Have I mentioned that I love bipolar?
-One of my first Fractal Explorer works that don't suck too much:
-There aren't many formulas I'm comfortable with in Ultra Fractal:
-There was a time when, for a moment, I actually understood how xaos works
-The universe as a fractal:
-Using always the same formula isn't necessarily bad:
-Sometimes Itry to draw fanart. Sometimes it's silly

Features!
Hi everyone, after some inactivity I think I'm gonna post new fractals very soon (don't know how soon, inspiration comes and goes...)
Meanwhile, here's a fractal art feature, because it's been ages since I've done one:

Updates...
It's been a while... :)
I'm SO behind with messages and everything, I only just noticed that I got a Daily Deviation last week! Thanks everyone for views and favourites!
Currently not making fractals, but I really should take a look at the galleries for new stuff that I missed (time to add some faves!)
I've been a bit busy in these months, I'm renting two rooms of my house to tourists (it's like a separate small flat with its own living room/kitchen), and I take care of check-in and cleaning. It's actually quite incredible realizing that I LIKE doing the housework for this (unlike MY OWN housework, lol). Despite being in a boring town a few
Update
Hi everyone, I know I haven't made fractals recently, I need to start again with the help of some tutorials (Apophysis) to get new inspiration. I can't promise anything, I'll post new stuff when I can.
Meanwhile, I've been doing something different with origami: I love geometric shapes, so I'm currently trying to understand the tricks of origami tessellations, which I find particularly difficult but also very inspiring. I just need to find good paper in large format, because folding a grid of 32 or more divisions is pretty hard on a small sheet.
I also want to thank all the people who faved my works and the new watchers, I've been a bit ina
Fractal Features
Hello everyone! While I'm trying to make more Apo stuff (and also realizing that after 10 years I can't really make something new, but who cares, I still enjoy fractals as one of the beauties of this world, and they also make me feel good, so that's enough), here's another feature :-)
